Local groomers bathe dogs for charity; hoping to set a world record

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Dog grooming salons around the world, including several throughout the Ozarks bathed dogs Sunday for a very good cause.

The Bathe to Save Tour is a group of salons raising money for local animal shelters. All of the money collected for baths and nail trimming at select locations will go directly to groups like Rescue One.

Ashley Collins, owner of Four Paws Salon in Springfield said it's a great way to help the community.

"Being able to give back is a big thing. The customers have been great. Everyone has been calling. People that don't even come to grooming shops, they're just bringing their dogs in to be bathed so they can support the rescues. It's been non-stop busy. We had to hit a minimum of 25 and we broke that. All of the shops in our group did," she said.

The group is also trying to set the Guiness World Record for the most dogs washed in 12 hour period.
