LACLEDE CO., Mo - Cars have not been able to use the Gasconade River Bridge for more than three years but that will soon change. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a $4.4 million face lift for the bridge that is just west of Hazelgreen in Laclede County.
The project includes building a new bridge adjacent to the existing Gasconade River Bridge, located on historic Route 66. This will fix the extensive deterioration that shut down the bridge in the winter of 2014.
The project is scheduled to begin this summer and will be completed by August of 2019.
