SPRINGFIELD, Mo. People in Springfield may soon have another option for getting around downtown.
Springfield Bike Share is working with the city on a bicycle rental program like ones in Kansas City and Nashville. Riders can pay for daily rentals or pay for a membership, similar to a bus pass.
"It's more than just an amenity for the community. It's a transportation choice. Those living in and around the urban core can make that decision whether they want to hop in their car, whether they want to walk or they have another option with bike share," said Eric Claussen, Traffic Engineer for Springfield.
You should see the bikes on racks in downtown by next Spring.
