Taste of the Ozarks: Candy Apple Salad

This is a great recipe to use up extra Halloween candy or something to plan for Thanksgiving.

Candy Apple Salad

2 Snickers bars chopped
2 tart firm apples chopped
1/4 cup honey Greek yogurt
1 cup whipped cream
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 lemon
2 cups cold water

Roll but lemon on a cutting board pressing down to release juices. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a medium-size bowl. Add the cold water and the chopped apples. Let the Apple sit in the lemon water for 10 to 15 minutes. In a sauté pan over medium heat toast the pecans until they become aromatic and begin to brown slightly. Set the toasted pecans aside to cool to room temperature. In a large bowl place the chopped snickers bar and a yogurt and stir together. Drain the apples and place on a paper towel to dry. Once the apples have dried add them to the snickers and the yogurt. Then add the chopped pecans and toss. Lastly add the whipped cream and toss to combine. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and service. Recipe serves 6 to 8.
