The Taney County Fair will run from Wednesday, June 13 through Sunday, June 17 at the Taney County Fairgrounds located between Kirbyville and Forsyth off Highway 76.
The fair includes rides, fair food, games, live music, arena events, and more. Fair organizers say it's a fun event for the whole family.
"Families get together and come out and have fun and there are so many areas that don't do county fairs anymore," Fair Board Member Jeff Romines said.
Romines says there are some new things coming this year including helicoper rides offered by a local company. He also says the fair board has been working to improve the fairgrounds overall.
"We've made a brand new concession stand. It's bigger, it's better. It's going to have a lot more room for us. We have actually extended the track. We have got the track to where we can do the truck and tractor pulls and they've got the 300-feet to pull. We have changed and moved the announcer stand to the side. We have reworked the parking lot. There are just a whole lot of things we've done out here," Romines said.
He says it's important that local families support the fair, not only to have a fun time, but also to help keep the fair coming back.
"If you don't come out and we don't support our local stuff, then it goes away and this is history. That's what would be hard for me, to see history go by the wayside," Romines said.
