Suspicious items found in bathroom of McDonalds at Chestnut and West Bypass

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The McDonald's at Chestnut and West Bypass was closed and evacuated Friday evening, after police say someone found items in the bathroom that could have been used to make methamphetamine.

No actual meth was found, and Springfield Police Public Information Officer Jasmine Bailey says no one was exposed to the chemicals.

Police and firefighters cleared the suspicious items out of the bathroom while workers waited outside. They are investigating who left it there.
