School of the Osage Superintendent announces retirement

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. -- The School of the Osage announced Friday the district has accepted its superintendent's request to retire.

Dr. Brent Depee announced his retirement to the School of the Osage Board of Education at its meeting Thursday night.

Depee posted a message on Twitter Friday morning reading, "The past year I have experienced some health issues. My family and I believe it is time to retire. I want to thank the board, admin, faculty and staff for their support. It has been a privilege to serve SOTO, community and most importantly it’s students . All in All Osage."

Dr. Laura Nelson, the district's current Deputy Superintendent has been appointed Depee's successor, effective October 30.

Depee has served as the district's superintendent since 2011.

Dr. Brad Yoder will assume the position of Deputy Superintendent.
