Police locate missing Springfield boy, mother at Greyhound bus station in Joplin

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police located a mother, and son part of a parental kidnapping case out of Springfield.

Jasper County authorities arrested Rosemary Bivens without incident at the Greyhound bus station in Joplin Wednesday morning. Police say the child, Matthew Bivens, 4, appeared to be in good health.

Police reported the mother told the boy's father the two were going shopping on January 3 in Springfield. She never returned the child to the father. Investigators thought the two may had been traveling to California. She does not have a car.

Matthew's father has sole custody of the boy. Police will return the boy to him after a medical evaluation.

A judge ordered Bivens jailed on a warrant for her arrest.
