Police investigate 2 shootings in Springfield; 1 turns deadly

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police in Springfield are looking for suspects in two separate shootings. One of the shootings turned deadly.

Investigators say Jordan Moore, 18, died in a shooting Friday night in the 1900 block of North Colgate. That is near Division and West Bypass. He died at a Springfield hospital.

Then Sunday morning, a man suffered critical injuries after he was shot in the leg. The shooting happened outside a convenience store near the northwest corner of Missouri State University. Police have not released a motive in the shooting. One neighbor says the violence is becoming too common.

"I don't know exactly what happened that day, but this ain't a very good neighborhood in some spots," said Jim Siegrist. "People do try and get along with everybody if they can, but there's too much crazy people out here sometimes."

Springfield police ask anyone with any information about either shooting to call 911. They can also leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
