Osage High School briefly evacuated after fire alarms sound

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. -- School administrators say a power surge is to blame for fire alarms going off at Osage High School early Thursday morning.

Dr. Laura Nelson, Deputy Superintendent of School of the Osage said students were evacuated for about 30 minutes while the Osage Beach Fire Protection District worked to give the all clear.

Students returned to class. Nelson said the power surge was likely caused by lightning in the area.
