JASPER, Ark. -- The Newton County, Ark. officers are searching for a man wanted for shooting another man, then stealing his van.

Sheriff Glenn Wheeler says Tyler Blue Breedlove, 29, knows the Jasper area very well.

“We are asking folks to lock their doors and be extra vigilant until he is located," said Sheriff Wheeler. "He is armed with a shotgun for sure, and possibly more weapons, and was obviously in a mindset to be violent. Please be extra cautious, lock all doors and vehicles. We don’t want any more victims.”

Deputies say Breedlove shot a man outside a Jasper home Thursday night as he stole the man's van. The victim, 55, suffered multiple shooting wounds to his face, shoulder, neck and legs. He is hospitalized with critical conditions.

Breedlove is described as 5’9”, approximately150 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. He recently had somewhat long hair and a beard. He is considered armed and dangerous and, if seen, should not be approached. Breedlove is likely in the victim's Toyota Sienna minivan with Arkansas license 947 XTY. The van is described as being very beat up and rough.

Anyone with any information as to his whereabouts or the whereabouts of the van, is asked to call the Newton County Sheriff’s Office at (870) 446-5124.
