National Weather Service downgrades Winter Storm Watch to Winter Weather Advisory for southern half of the Ozark

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Ready for a blast of winter weather? It appears many counties will need a shovel.

The National Weather Service downgraded a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Weather Advisory Friday night through late Saturday night. It includes Barry, Howell, McDonald, Newton (Mo.), Oregon, Ozark, Stone (Mo.), and Taney Counties in Missouri. Across the state lines, the watch includes Carroll, Fulton, and Madison Counties.

Forecasters predict now expect 1-3 inches of snow. Conditions could make travel hazardous.
