GREENE COUNTY, Mo (KY3) Traffic is moving again on Interstate 44 west of Springfield, after a multi-vehicle crash that shut down both eastbound lanes of traffic.

According to Greene County Dispatch, five vehicles were involved in the crash at the 63 mile marker, near the Hwy. K overpass, just before 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Authorities confirm two people were taken to the hospital with minor and moderate injuries.

Road crews earlier in the day closed one lane of traffic in that same area for an unscheduled repair on the Pickerel Creek bridge at the 64 mile marker. There is no word on whether the two incidents are connected.
