MoDOT releases plans to make U.S. 60 in Rogersville safer

ROGERSVILLE, Mo. -- The Missouri Highway Department is making some changes to U.S. 60 in Rogersville.

"I don't think its gonna make a difference," said Maurice Carrigan.

Maurice travels U.S. 60 every time he goes into Springfield. He says adding a j-turn won't stop the crashes, but doing away with all cross traffic will. A j-turn is when a vehicle turns right instead of turning left, across a busy highway. The vehicle will then make a u-turn into the opposite lane.

Other intersections getting safety improvements along U.S. 60 include Industry Road and Center Street.

MoDOT says they do not have the funds to create a bridge or back roads.
