Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring an unusual mix, a lost Leonberger

In our Leigh's Lost and Found todayo, a very unusual find for
Springfield animal control.

This gorgeous dog was found about a week ago and animal control's best guess is that he's what's called a Leonberger.

"A Leonberger is a larger type of dog with a very shaggy coat. They tend to come in a darker tan color with some black accents around the face and such. He's got that general body shape but he's smaller than most Leonbergers. He's got a brindle coat pattern that isn't typical in Leonbergers. So we're not sure where that comes from."

Someone obviously owns the male dog. He's been neutered and when he was found, he had a collar on and was dragging a tether lead with a long chain.

Someone found him in the 2100 block of north Vincent. He's very social and energetic and is only about two years old.
