Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a senior citizen Cocker Spaniel

In today's Leigh's lost and found report, our featured dog is an older Cocker Spaniel that animal control is really hoping to get back home so he can enjoy his golden years.

"We're guessing he's at least 10 years of age, probably even older than that. He's definitely an older, well cared for dog. He's even a little overweight."

The male dog was found loose in the 1800 block of south Missouri and has been at the shelter since animal control picked him up on January 23rd.

He does have an old, blue and white collar with a bone pattern, but unfortunately, he has no tags or microchip.

Shelter coordinator Josh Doss doesn't think the dog was out long at all and says he obviously has a home where someone has been taking care of him.

"He's in pretty good health and his fur is not all that matted. He was a little wet, probably from being out the night before, but other than that, his coat is pretty decent."

If you recognize today's featured dog or if you've lost a pet, call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also visit their website to see all the animals currently there and to fill out out an online lost pet form.
