Firefighters battled fire involving Fed Ex truck in Republic, Mo.

REPUBLIC, Mo. -- Firefighters battled a fire involving a Fed Ex truck late Monday night in Republic, Mo.

The truck caught fire in the parking lot of the Kum and Go located at State Highway MM and U.S. 60 around 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters say the rear axle and front portion of the trailer caught fire. Crews quickly put the fire out before it extended into the trailer's content. Investigators believe the fire started because of a malfunction in the brakes.
