Arkansas Army National Guard searching for missing woman in Newton County

NEWTON COUNTY, Ark. - The Arkansas Army National Guard is now searching for a woman in Newton County.

Pamela Samuels-Lourno is from Hot Springs. The 57-year-old woman told family members last Monday she’d be in Mount Judea.

Newton County deputies later found her pickup truck just south of there.

They believe she’s traveling with an older, small, white dog that is a Chihuahua-terrier mix, and had been in Western Grove June 4th.

The Newton County sheriff said bloodhounds caught her scent a couple times, but deputies have had no luck finding her.

The sheriff said Samuels-Lourno is described as 5'5", 172 pounds with hazel eyes and grey hair cut very short. She often wears caps or beanies.

“Today the Arkansas Army National Guard is assisting with helicopter with some cameras and flare capabilities. We are just going to try to cover some ground we can’t cover by foot," said Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler.

Wheeler asks that if you see Pamela do not approach her, but call the sheriffs office at (870) 446-5124.
