New polling numbers show Missouri's presidential race is too close to call.
The Monmouth University has Donald Trump up by just a single point over Hillary Clinton. Both candidates do well among their base. Trump holds a 5% point lead among independent voters.
The same poll has Democrat Chris Koster up by 11% points over Republican Eric Greitens. In that race, independents currently support Koster by 49%-37%.
Senator Roy Blunt leads Jason Kander by 5% points. In the polling, Blunt earns a positive job rating from Missouri voters – 45% approve and 35% disapprove.
The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone from August 19-22 with 401 Missouri residents likely to vote in the November election. This sample has a margin of error of +4.9 percent. The poll was conducted by the Monmouth University Polling Institute in West Long Branch, NJ.
