2 children suffer serious burns after gas can explosion in Carl Junction, Mo.


CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- Two children from Carl Junction, Mo. suffered critical burns after a gas can exploded.

The explosion happened in the backyard of the children's home. Investigators say the 10 and 12-year-olds lit matches around the gas can. The kids are hospitalized in Springfield.

The Carl Junction school district is asking for prayers for the fourth and fifth graders and their family.
