Meet KY3's Andrew Havranek.
Andrew is an award winning journalist who joined the KY3/KSPR News Team in October 2017 as the Lake of the Ozarks Bureau Reporter.
Andrew started his career in 2014 at WDTV, our sister station in Clarksburg, West Virginia. During his time there, he was all over the newsroom as a multimedia journalist, weekend anchor, and most recently the morning and noon anchor/producer. He was recognized by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association as the best photojournalist in the state in 2015, and in 2016 and 2017 he was recognized for having the best AM Newscast in the WV.
Andrew is, what he calls, a total "yinzer," meaning he's from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Duquesne University in 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Journalism. His passion for journalism didn't actually develop until his sophomore year, as his original goal was to pursue law school.
He is a huge Pittsburgh sports fan, cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates. He also roots for multiple college teams, but doesn't have a die-hard allegiance outside of the Duquesne Dukes.
When not chasing stories, Andrew likes to golf, swim, and travel. He and his family take vacations every year together, mostly to Key West or Las Vegas. He also is a musical theatre fan, and a drummer.
Andrew is always looking for story ideas for the Lake of the Ozarks region. If you have any ideas, feel free to email him at email@example.com, or reach out to him on Facebook and Twitter!
