Meet KY3's Lisa Rose.
Springfield/the Ozarks has always been my home. While I grew up all over the country, my family would eventually return to this area. My dad was bi-vocational, a minister and full time ironworker. My mom, a full time homemaker. Our family followed ironworking jobs/church positions for years, resulting in us kids attending more than a dozen schools across the country. But Christian Schools of Springfield was our home, and that's where I graduated high school. Next, I was off to Greenville, South Carolina, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Television from Bob Jones University in 1980. Three months later I was working in Joplin, MO at KODE-TV, a great learning experience for four years as a t-v news reporter and anchor.
Then In 1984, following family tradition I came back home to Springfield. Most of my family was living here as well; and it's where I found my KY3 family too. Here I have reported and anchored newscasts at noon, 5 p.m., weekends, and now the 6, 9, and 10 p.m. newscasts.
With a demanding work schedule over the years, life outside the station was filled with wonderful parents, three brothers, a sister, and eventually 12 nieces and nephews. No surprise, when "Mr. Right" finally came along in 1997, he came with three children...once again I was right "at home." Randy and I have been married since 1998. He's homegrown too, from Conway, Missouri. Today, thanks to my sweet step-kids, we have a grandson and two granddaughters. We love spending time with our families, friends, teaching Sunday School at church (Second Baptist), experimenting with home decor, shopping, and cleaning up after our three precious pooches (all Shih Tzu).
