The morning after our first day of rains proves to be more of a possitive outlook on the floods. As my husband Chris & I came out of Aurora, MO into Crane at about 8p.m. last evening, we encountered a few areas where the flooding was questionable for our little old station wagon. So we made a few u-turns to get home. We were suprised to see quite a bit of flooding in our City Park and all around the Crane Bridge. The Park itself was under water! We drove into the Subway parking lot to look in the area going under the bridge. The water was pooled about the professional buildings and the water level was very high, up into the grassy area below the Subway parking lot! It was too dark to take photos then, so these are morning shots.
I drove kids to school this morning through Hurley, from Crane and incountered a few places where the water was and had been over the road. There was debris along the road where the water level had been previosly. The road crew was working on moving the debris to allow better flow of the water among the roads. I proceeded through an area and the water was splashing high! The children enjoyed a good laugh, but me, my heart was pounding! At least it wasn't ON the Spring Creek Bridge, where this picture was taken.
