If your family is looking for a duo who will light up your life, say hello to Derek and Taryn! Derek and Taryn are siblings who like to please others and get along great with other children. They are both very active kids. Derek is the oldest and is big on outdoor activities, including playing baseball, riding his bike and skateboarding. A cheeseburger with fries is his favorite meal. When Derek grows up he would like to a be a mechanic or a semi-truck driver. This tenth grader is helpful, honest and sincere. Taryn, like her brother, is a fan of outdoor activities; she prefers hiking and swimming. Trying new foods is a talent of Taryn's, but her favorite meal is chicken nuggets. When this young woman grows up she would like to be a veterinarian. She is very sweet and willing to do anything asked of her. Seventh grade interests her and she looks forward to each day. Pet peeves include rude people, spiders and snakes. Derek and Taryn both benefit from counseling, which will need to continue after placement. Their caseworker recommends a two-parent family with consistent expectations; however, all family types will be considered. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services. This is a LEGAL RISK ADOPTIVE PLACEMENT. In a legal risk placement, it is expected that the family will eventually adopt the children, even though the birth parents' rights have not been fully terminated at the time of placement.
