Active and playful Darius is ready to bring joy into the lives of a new family with his great smile! He likes playing basically all sports (especially basketball) and is often found drawing and mastering video games. This preteen can be shy when first meeting people, but he loosens up after getting to know them better. Once he warms up, Darius is a pleasant, energetic, talkative guy who relishes asking questions and is fond of board games. In the seventh grade, Darius likes math. School is one of his strengths and he is happy to attend every day.
Darius benefits from counseling, which will need to continue after placement. He has two siblings with whom he'd like to remain in contact. Darius' caseworker would prefer a two-parent or single-father family; however, all family types will be considered. Having another sibling or two in the home would be nice. This boy will thrive in a structured home with patience and love. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services. This is a LEGAL RISK ADOPTIVE PLACEMENT. In a legal risk placement, it is expected that the family will eventually adopt the child, even though the birth parents' rights have not been fully terminated at the time of placement.
