We hadn't seen single digits reported at the Springfield Airport since February 11, 2011, and....we broke that streak this morning! That's 720 days!
Eventually, we'll warm up into the upper 20s and low 30s this afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. Overnight lows will not nearly be as cold, as we're expecting mid 20s. Over the weekend, temperatures soar to the 40s both Saturday and Sunday. There is a slight chance of a flurry early Saturday, but most will be to the northeast.
Another highlight? Groundhog day; see below:
Early next week features warmer temps in the 50s.
