Well today was a little calmer than yesterday was, but not by a whole lot. We had 2 different areas we could target today, one being SE Nebraska and the other West Central Nebraska, either way it was 2 hours in either direction. Vortex2 chose the western storms and it proved right as we were on the only tornado warned storm of the day pretty much.
First here is a picture of a couple of the probe vehicles driving to the storm in Nebraska. You can see the storm cloud and the anvil.

So we finally made it to the storm and it was an intriguing one with some rotation in the storm. Here is a shot I took where we had some rotation going on.

The storm tried hard to develop into a tornado but just didn't quite have enough. It did have some hail with it about golfball but that was about it. It had the chance though and thats all you can ask for. In the meantime I did get a nice rainbow shot after the storm passed.

Tomorrow is looking really good for the Vortex2 team. The SPC has the moderate risk out with the 10%chance of tornadoes. Time for bed as tomorrow will be a long one.
