Thursday 7:45 AM A Wet Morning Followed by a Warming Trend

By Meteorologist Josh deBerge

Good morning bloggers. Light to at time moderate rain will continue for the next several hours here in the Ozarks and may last past noon as you head up toward Lake of the Ozarks.

Radar continues to show the shield of rain steadily pushing to the northeast. It has been a nice soaker across the region and thankfully rain amounts have not been out-of-hand (this seems to be the first regular spring rain we've had this year). Some places, especially southwest of Springfield, have seen between 1/2 to 1 inch of rain will many other places have seen much less.

The storm system responsible for this episode of showers and thunderstorms will exit the area today, but notice below we are on the northern side of a weak front so conditions today will remain unseasonably chilly; temperatures will likely not make it above 60 in many locations.

Don't worry though. A big time warming trend will commence Friday. Temperatures will steadily rise through the weekend and widespread middle 80s are possible by the beginning to middle of next week! Finally some very spring - even summer-like weather here in the Ozarks. We will also have an extended period of dry weather. In fact, it could be one of the longest dry stretches we have had so far this year...what will we talk about on the blog? This means perfect weather for the blogger/chatter get together planned by Mindi in Nixa on Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by today. This dreary weather will be over soon.
