Here are pictures sent in to us from Britt Millspaugh who was in Buffalo today and took some pics for us.

We also set a new record, for the 2nd month in a row we have taken the number one spot for all time rain in a month. We did in in February, and now here in March.

We are very concerned about the next few days with more rainfall, and flooding that will once again take place across the region.
Look at what some models are projecting now through Friday.
NAM

GFS

HPC

As you can see the GFS been the lesser with still 2"-4", while the NAM shows 4"-6", whoh!
All of this as a warm front lifts through the region and will bring ample moisture return to the region beginning tomorrow and going through Friday morning.

As far as chances for severe weather go, a lot will depend on if we get enough instability and just how far north the warm front will go. If instability can be realized then storms will develop in the warm sector.
The GFS bufkit is showing at least some instability of 1000 j/kg and VERY high Helicity values.

With still some uncertainties, the SPC has slight risk just to our south.

The KSPR weather chat room will be open tomorrow (Wednesday) from 7pm to 8pm.

Henry...very good points. Our hope is that those living in mobile homes have a plan in place beforehand that would have them on the road for less than 2-5 minutes. Hopefully they are not wondering around aimlessly looking for shelter. Being prepared AHEAD OF TIME is key. The warnings have gotten much more specific in the last few years. Mark...I will do some research on that and post it in a later blog. There is no clearinhouse for that infor that I know of by WFO.

Scary storm damage. Sometime the warnings are pretty scary, too. Advising people in mobile homes to seek safe shelter is pretty good advice. But if there are 15,000 living in mobile homes in an area where are they suppose to go? And is it really a good idea to have all those people driving off in the middle of a storm? Maybe the warnings could be a little more location specific. Truth is the only safe place in the face of a tornado is an underground shelter.

Is there any way of finding out yearly tornado stats for 2008 from each individual nwso? Like Kansas city/ wichita/tulsa/okc? Im curious how we are ranking up this year compared to the tornado alley areas.

Wasn't able to sit down at my computer until much later tonight but I never go to bed without checking here first! The pics are really good ones but oh, so tragic. My heart goes out to those that lost so much. I'm hoping Thursday's storms just remains as that....and not end up being tornadic. Everyone stay safe. Hope I can make the chat tomorrow night but may not get home in time. Take care fellow bloggers/chatters!

I was thinnking about you yesterday, Val, when they mentioned Bolivar. I think you probably got more action than you really wanted. I felt like the news team did a fantastic job and "boo-hoo" to anyone who felt like the storms were being covered too much.

I wonder if Thursday will be another repeat of Monday?? If it is, I hope it comes when I am able to track it. Maybe if more storm spotters had been in the field, Buffalo could have had more warning. Glad everyone was safe though, that is what is most important! Hi Val, nice to see you made it through fine!

Another thing. Just read the rest of the comments from the blog last night and I want to say thank you to everyone who stuck up for the ones who actually "think of" and "care about" someone other than themselves. Thank God for them in this world full of "meism"!!!! I just pray that none of those people who were complaining never lose someone to a storm-that's if they are capable of truly caring for anyone but themselves. Keep up the great work KSPR and boo to the naysayers!! Friend, Val

I live near Stockton Lake and was wondering what the record level for Stockton Lake is, it is pretty high know but have seen it higher, just concerned it is going to rise quite a bit with the rain still coming. Just curious if you could find out its record crest or not, thanks.
