The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has issued a water conservation advisory for Clark County, which includes tornado-stricken Henryville, Ind.

Residents are asked to conserve water as repairs begin Friday on a 280,000-gallon water supply tank that was damaged in the tornadoes on March 2.

The department said water will still be supplied from a smaller supplemental tank.

Utility officials said the county will have enough water for consumption levels.  However, they said conservation efforts will help in case of an emergency, such as a fire.

Residents are asked to limit water consumption for tasks such as washing cars and watering lawns.

The repairs are expected to take a minimum of two months.
