Thousands of Indianapolis residents experienced power outages Wednesday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Power and Light website, more than 17,000 customers were without power.
IPL said the outages resulted from a problem at one of the substations in Pike Township. The company switched customers to different circuits, restoring power to all customers around 10:15 a.m.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department directed traffic at 38th Street and High School Road due to power lost in traffic lights.
