Madalyn Smith, 45, was convicted of one count of neglect of a dependent, two counts of class B battery and three counts of class D battery.

The child she was taking care of suffered a broken leg, skull fractures and severe liver damage. The child also had burns on her feet.
Smith had been in charge of taking care of the infant and her 2-year-old sister when the injuries occured. Smith originally told police the toddler hurt the baby.
Smith will be sentenced March 28.
