Bowyer and company finished 35th at Kentucky after cutting a tire and finding the wall late in the race. But they were never much of a threat to take the victory before that either. More importantly, Bowyer fell to 12th in the points, which means under the new chase format, wild card and all, the 33 would miss the chase.
