    SUMMERSVILLE, Mo. - On Friday hundreds of people stood in silence along a stretch of nearly 70 miles of road to honor a fallen soldier from Licking. Staff Sgt. Tyler J. Smith, 24, of Licking, Mo., died April 3, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when he was attacked with an enemy improvised explosive device. Supporters held flags along the route as Smith's body was transported from Rolla to Summersville.
