    A woman is alive tonight after her neighbor came to her rescue when she was trapped inside a burning home. Firefighters say the fire was caused by someone making meth. Another man, 35-year-old Larry Wendlend, of Iowa died in the fire around 9:00 Tuesday morning in the 400 block of west Minota in Springfield.

  13. Neighbors are searching for answers following a deadly house fire that killed two brothers

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A deadly house fire is at the center of a joint investigation by the Springfield police department and fire marshals. Last Friday, two brothers died inside a home in the 900 block of north Concord. Fire marshals are trying to determine where the fire started inside the home and how it started. They say it's too soon to rule whether the fire was accidental or intentionally set. Neighbors say the unknown is unsettling.

  15. Police say drivers must get off cell phones to prevent deadly crashes involving pedestrians

    An alarming trend is increasing as more and more people are hit and killed along Ozarks roadways. From busy highways to windy rural roads, six pedestrians have died within the last few months after they were struck by a car. So far this year 23 people died in crashes compared to just seven from the same time frame last year. To date six fatalities have included pedestrians. It's a trend many are hoping will end.
