  3. Springfield Police ask FBI to join Greyhound bus station shooting investigation due to language barrier

    Springfield police are asking the FBI to join their investigation into a shooting at a Greyhound bus station. Officers say around 6:00 Thursday night Mohamed H. Dawod, 25, of Glendale Arizona shot another passenger in the back. The victim, Justin M. Hall, 32, from Ohio died at the hospital from the injuries. Dawod faces a charge of first degree murder and armed criminal action.

  5. The family of a four-year-old kidnapped from her aunt's Lebanon home is thankful to have her home safe

    For the first time a Lebanon family is speaking out about the kidnapping of a four-year-old girl. Cloe Husted is home safe with her family but still recovering from a frightening ordeal. Police say Patricia Daniels and Ronald Wright kidnapped the child from her aunt’s front yard. Officers say they drove a white minivan to a mobile home park in the 500 block of east Bland Road.

    A judge sentenced Frankie Maybee, 20, and Sean Popejoy, 19, both of Green Forest, Arkansas, for their roles in committing federal hate crimes. They are the first defendants to be sentenced under the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, enacted in October 2009.

  19. Two Brothers and Nephew Charged, Deputies say they Caught them Stealing

    Several family members are in the Greene County jail facing burglary charges. Deputies say Enx Khoshaba, William Gordon and Paul Gordon claimed they worked for a local tire company owner.  While they loaded about $2,300 worth of tires into a vehicle, deputies say a witness became suspicious. The witness called the owner who said he did not know the men. The witness then called an employee to the scene who blocked the suspects’ vehicles in with his car.

    A firefighter from Kansas is charged with stealing from tornado victims. Matthew W. Page, 25, of Baxter Springs is accused of stealing $245.44 worth of items from the Home Depot. Police say Page and another firefighter were assisting in recovery efforts at the store where seven people died inside.
