    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police shot and killed a man about 8 a.m. at a home at 2506 W. Grand St., after going there to serve a search warrant.  The police chief said Friday afternoon that several officers were on routine administrative leave while the fatal shooting is investigated.

  7. Feds join fight against synthetic drugs with indictments of 3 in Springfield

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A federal grand jury indicted three members of a family from Springfield for their roles in what investigators call a conspiracy to distribute synthetic drugs, commonly referred to as K2, including a product called Kryp2nite.  Investigators believe the Franklin family has hauled in around $6.7 million from the sales of those products in the past three years.

    Rolla, Mo. - For the first time a graphic picture of a raped and murdered nine-year-old girl was shown during a trial that could end with a man being punished by death. An FBI agent testified a photograph presented as evidence was a picture of Rowan Ford’s body. The fourth grader was found at the bottom of a cave with no clothes on the lower portion of her body. Investigators say there were signs she was strangled to death.

  13. Springfield Police ask FBI to join Greyhound bus station shooting investigation due to language barrier

    Springfield police are asking the FBI to join their investigation into a shooting at a Greyhound bus station. Officers say around 6:00 Thursday night Mohamed H. Dawod, 25, of Glendale Arizona shot another passenger in the back. The victim, Justin M. Hall, 32, from Ohio died at the hospital from the injuries. Dawod faces a charge of first degree murder and armed criminal action.
