    A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of one of two men accused of a costly crime spree in Barry and Lawrence County. Officers arrested Kyle Filbeck. Filbeck and Timothy Plopper are accused of stealing seven cars in Barry County and setting many of the cars on fire. Officers are hoping a new website will bring in more tips to crack unsolved cases. The Barry-Lawrence County Crime Stoppers website shows wanted people and the crimes they're accused of committing.

  5. Springfield City Councilman: Scrap Metal Ordinance is Driving Business Outside City Limits

    One Springfield city council member says it may be time to suspend or modify the city’s scrap metal ordinance. The ordinance requires scrap metal yards in the city to enter anyone selling more than $50 worth of metal into an online database. City Councilman Tom Bieker says the ordinance is driving business outside city limits. Police say the ordinance is successfully catching metal thieves.

  9. Stone County Man Facing Robbery Charges in Three Different Counties

    The Taney County prosecutor filed charges against a man suspected of robbing people in three different counties. Steven Ray Youngblood faces one count of felony robbery, one count of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.  On Sunday, Branson police say Youngblood pointed a revolver handgun at a clerk at the White Oak gas station in Branson. He demanded cash and got away with more than $100.

    After a guilty plea, Harrison police are releasing video of a taped confession from a man who said he used karate to chop off another man's pinky.   15. Convicted Bank Robber Committed Suicide Inside Greene County Jail, Hanged Himself with a Bed Sheet

    A Fort Smith, Arkansas man who pleaded guilty to two armed bank robberies in Springfield and Joplin hanged himself in the Greene County Jail. Under the terms of a plea agreement in June, Robert Bruce Knepper, 45, would have been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison without parole. Probation and parole officers were completing his pre-sentence investigation report at the time of his death. The court had not yet set a date for his sentencing hearing.

  21. Two Brothers and Nephew Charged, Deputies say they Caught them Stealing

    Several family members are in the Greene County jail facing burglary charges. Deputies say Enx Khoshaba, William Gordon and Paul Gordon claimed they worked for a local tire company owner.  While they loaded about $2,300 worth of tires into a vehicle, deputies say a witness became suspicious. The witness called the owner who said he did not know the men. The witness then called an employee to the scene who blocked the suspects’ vehicles in with his car.

    A firefighter from Kansas is charged with stealing from tornado victims. Matthew W. Page, 25, of Baxter Springs is accused of stealing $245.44 worth of items from the Home Depot. Police say Page and another firefighter were assisting in recovery efforts at the store where seven people died inside.
