Savannah Taylor of Mercer County has been named the player of year by the 12th Region Girls Basketball Coaches Association.
Chris Souder, who led Mercer to the region’s best record at 27-6, was named coach of the year.
The coaches’ association also announced its all-region team, which includes nine area players among the 15 positions.
Megan Pittman of Casey County, Emily Fox of Lincoln County and Kasey Young of Danville were voted to the first team.
