Jermaine Mallett's first game at the division-1 level was a resounding success. The Marion Military Institute transfer feeding off 7,200 rowdy Bears fans, helped MSU to a season opening win over SEC foe Auburn.
Mallett was 3rd among Bears with his 12 points, but led the team with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
The biggest play for the 6'3" guard however came in the first 4 minutes when Mallett drove the baseline and threw down a monsterous dunk over Auburn's 6'9" defender.
Mallett was all smiles after the play and says plays like that can spark the crowd and help his teammates to go on runs.
