Malone Sparks Lady Bears on Birthday

By Mike Scott

Lady Bears sophomore Jasmine Malone celebrated her birthday with a 19 point, 8 rebound, 3 steal effort, helping Missouri State to a 75-59 drubbing of visiting St. Louis University.

Sophomore point guard Casey Garrison overcame a slow start to lead MSU with 21 points, despite playing under the weather.

A third sophomore, Lacey Boshe added 15 points and was key to the Lady Bears post defense. Boshe helped contain Billikens center Amanda Kemezys to 14 points. Kemezys played most of the 2nd half in foul trouble before fouling out with over 5 minutes left in the game.

Missouri State will wrap up its three-game home stand Saturday (Nov. 21) with a 1:05 p.m. contest against Southeast Missouri State at JQH Arena.
