If Springfield had a rollercoaster, no doubt they'd put it near Parkview High School.

The 2011 Vikings had their share of ups and downs.  In almost every day, the Vikings had a chance to win but many of those victories slipped away in the fourth quarter.

"We’re looking to get better, added some depth at some positions," second year head coach Anthony Hays said.

Around the training camp, coaches wear green t-shirts with "BELIEVE" written in bold gold.  This is a new year for Parkview, and the entire squad has a feeling of rejuvenation.

"We got new Under Armour uniforms, new turf, this new feeling at Parkview and the kids are excited about that," Hays said.

The skill positions will be Parkview's strength.  A combination of Cole Jenkins and Rudy Beltran in the backfield on offense and in the secondary on defense will play havoc with Ozark Conference schools.

The battle in the trenches is where Parkview needs improvement.  The depth on both the offensive and defensive lines are a problem for the Vikings.  But with 15-seniors returning this fall, Parkview's desire to win could be infectious.

Hays believes Parkview will win if the team plays discipline football.  It's a message his squad has adopted as well.
