La Russa Will Manage Again

It's only for one game, but former Cardinals manager Tony La Russa will return to the dugout in 2012. La Russa will serve as the manager of the National League All-Star team at the 2012 All-Star Game that will be played on July 10, 2012 in Kansas City and broadcast right here of Fox 2.

La Russa will be managing his sixth career All-Star game. The 67 year old manager retired following the 2011 season after the Cardinals won the World Championship, the 11th in their history and La Russa's second title with the Cardinals.

Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig said "Tony earned this opportunity with the remarkable run that the Cardinals completed last October, and I am delighted that he shared my enthusiasm about his staying in this role. The All-Star Game celebrates all the best of our game, and it is very appropriate that we will have the chance to celebrate one of the greatest managerial careers of all-time as a part of our festivities."
