MSU Assistant Trevyor Fisher named Republic boys coach

REPUBLIC, MO - Current Missouri State Director of Basketball Operations Trevyor Fisher was officially announced as Republic's new boys basketball coach Monday night at the Republic School Board meeting.

"Being part of the Missouri State program as a player and coach for the last 12 years has been unforgettable," Fisher said.  "This will always be a special place to me, and I have greatly enjoyed the coaches, players and fans that have been so good to me during my time here.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity ahead of me. It's a great school district and a basketball program with great tradition. I look forward to being on the floor coaching, building on the great tradition there, and developing young men at Republic."

Fisher replaces Gary Stanfield, who announced his retirement in late February following the Tigers district semifinal loss to Rogersville.

Fisher will remain in his current role until his contract at Republic begins May 31st.

Trevyor's father Mark Fisher is the Springfield Public Schools Athletic Director.
