BOLIVAR, MO - Southwest Baptist University football has announced its 2012 football schedule on Thursday, an 11-game slate that includes only MIAA conference games. This is the first time the Bearcats have ever played a conference only football schedule.
“That’s the thing that excited me the most, having six home games,” said SBU coach Keith Allen, whose team opens with an August 30th Thursday contest at home against Truman State. “That’s really exciting for our fan base and gives them an extra opportunity to get excited and see the 2012 team at home and what we bring to the table as a football team.”
“We are in a great conference, a true ‘football’ conference, and I am excited about being able to measure our team against everyone in the conference on a weekly basis. It’s an exciting time.”
Homecoming will be October 6th, when the Bearcats host Emporia State while Senior Day will be held on November 10th when the Bearcats host Lincoln. SBU is looking for their 4th consecutive winning season under Coach Allen as the Bearcats return to the MIAA Conference this season.
