Kansas City, Mo. - Ryan Dougherty headlines the representatives from Southwest Baptist University on the 2011-12 Men's Basektball All-MIAA teams released by the conference earlier today. Dougherty earns First Team All-MIAA honors and has also been named to the All-Defensive Team, while Robson Memnon earns All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors this season.
Dougherty and Memnon have been key to the success of the Bearcats this season. Memnon has averaged 12.0 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game in his senior year. Dougherty has averaged 16.6 points per game, 3.9 assists per game, and 4.1 rebounds per game this season. Dougherty has also broken into the top 10 in several categories all-time at SBU, including: points (6th; 1,292), three point baskets made (1st; 213), field goals made (9th; 431), assists (7th; 313), steals (5th; 134), minutes played (1st; 3,071), and games played (1st; 117).
"I am so happy for Ryan and Robson," head coach Jeff Guiot stated. "They were the heart and soul of our team. It has been an honor to coach them."
The Bearcats are set to play in the MIAA Tournament on Friday, March 2 when they face-off against the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri.
