2011 RECORD: (2-8)

RETURNING STARTERS: 9 Offense, 8 Defense

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Josh Gronvold (Sr. RB), Easton Flaugh (Jr. QB)

The Wolves lost five straight games to close 2011, including a 47-0 loss to Aurora and 52-0 loss to Mt. Vernon.  Reeds Spring Head Coach Brian Moler believes even with the difficult year last season, the Wolves are in a position to show improvement.

“We are so far ahead of the game right now as far as knowing our offense and defense,” said Reeds Spring Coach Brian Moler. “The kids are all familiar with it we’re not starting from ground zero like we were last year with so much youth.”

Running back Josh Gronvold is one of 10 seniors on the Reeds Spring roster.  Gronvold along with Junior quarterback Easton Flaugh will lead the Wolves offense. Reeds Spring also has experience up front returning all starting offensive lineman.

“When you have that kind of unity coming back we should move the ball pretty effectively,” said Moler.

Coach Moler still needs to build depth and one of the biggest obstacles he faces is changing the Wolves mindset.

“We’ve been preaching a lot of mental toughness and extra effort this year,” said Moler.   “When something bad happens, let’s shake it off and move on to the next play, let’s overcome.”

The Wolves open the season August 24th hosting Willow Springs.
