MARSHFIELD, Mo. - Marshfield High School announced its new football and girls basketball coaches at the school board meeting on Monday night. Nick Codutti takes over the Blue Jays football team. Shelly Jones will lead the Lady Jays basketball team.
Codutti is a Willard native who has spent the past three seasons as an assistant on Stan McGarvey's staff.
"We felt like Nick had all the qualities we were looking for to advance to next level," said Athletic Director Kevin Armstrong. "He's got a great football background and brings a lot of energy to the position."
Shelly Jones is a former Parkview coach who has college experience at Southwest Baptist and most recently as a five-year assistant to Drury women's basketball coach, Steve Harold.
"When you get an opportunity to bring in a coach that’s had the success she’s had at Parkview, SBU and Drury it's hard not to jump on that opportunity," said Armstrong. "She’s a great relationship builder."
Jones replaces long time coach Gary Murphy.
