COLUMBIA, MO - Marionville's Whitney Wright nailed a 3-pointer as time expired in the Class 2 Girls Semifinals. Unfortunately that basket left them 1-point short. The Lady Comets (21-11) fell to New Haven (18-12) 53-52 Thursday afternoon at Mizzou Arena.
Freshman phenom Josie Young led the way for Marionville with 22 points, while fellow frosh Jaycie Dishman added 17.
The Lady Comets fell behind in the first half, trailing 23-19 at the break. In the 2nd half they would get back within 1 twice, but New Haven made the free throws necessary to close out the Win.
Marionville will now play in the Class 2 3rd Place Game, Friday at Noon vs. North Platte at Mizzou Arena.
