KSPR Prep Spotlight: Ricky Nichols, Cassville Baseball

CASSVILLE, MO - Each week the KSPR Sports Team gives you an inside look at a local high school athlete.  This week we chat with Cassville senior football/basketball/baseball star Ricky Nichols.

Ricky is not only a 3-sport star for the Wildcats, he is also involved in Future Business Leaders of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  When not at school, Ricky likes to hang out with friends, play video games and fish.

Ricky's list of athletic accomplishments is staggering.

Football:

MFCA 1st team all-state
AP 1st team all-state
Big 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Year
Senior Stats - 1,100 rushing yards, 20 TD, 700 passing yards, 10 TD

Basketball:

2nd team all-Big 8
1st team all-district
Senior Stats: 17.6 points per game

Baseball:

School record holder with .529 batting average
MBCA 1st team all-state
Sports Writers 2nd team all-state
1st team all-Big 8
1st team all-district

Ricky plans on attending Missouri Southern State University this fall to further his education (general studies) and play quarterback for the Lions football team.

"I want to be known as a leader and a role model to everyone that looks up to me, whether it be on or off the field.," said Nichols.  "Also, i want to leave a legacy that people will look back upon for years to come."

Something people might not know about Ricky is that he's a really easy to get along with kind of guy.
